Telehealth Physical Therapy Services in Augusta GA
Telehealth Physical Therapy Services

One of the positive things that came from the COVID-era was an increased focus on telehealth services and virtual medical visits, including Telehealth physical therapy services. Most insurance companies now pay for virtual visits for physical therapy, and most patients already have the technology needed for visits on their phones or laptops.

Wonder if telehealth could benefit you?

Telehealth can be beneficial to most patients, aside from those whose treatments are primarily hands-on, manual therapy sessions. A virtual visit usually entails a shorter session (plan for about 15-25 minutes) focused on beefing up home exercises, checking in concerning new complications, or progressing established exercises. Some of the main reasons people participate in telehealth are to save time and money.

Virtual visits are generally well-liked by patients and can be great when you want to:

  • Avoid transportation troubles
  • Do check-in visits to ensure you are progressing well
  • Update existing home exercises and tweak routines
  • Accommodate a busy schedule
  • Receive a little accountability to keep up with strengthening programs
  • Keep up your therapy progress when traveling
  • Transition to more independent management of your symptoms and exercises

Wonder if you can use the technology? It’s so simple! We can manage your visit via cellphone, tablet, or laptop, depending on which device you’re most comfortable with. Initial assessments are best performed in person in the clinic, where we can provide hands-on assessment and palpate your trouble spots. After that, we can begin managing your care virtually. Your therapist will video call you at your appointment time and ensure voice and camera settings are working. From there, we can watch you perform exercises and provide cues and tips to improve performance. We will also add or tweak your home program, and can provide printable, e-mailed copies of any new exercises to make sure you remember what you learn.

Call us today or book an appointment online if you are interested in virtual care and we can answer any questions you may have and/or confirm you have the technology needed to participate.
