Functional Fitness: How CrossFit Benefits Everyday Life in Augusta GA
Functional Fitness

Looking for a way to improve your health and functional fitness for everyday activities in Augusta GA?

Look no further than CrossFit!

CrossFit incorporates functional fitness that can help you live to your full potential. In this article, I share 4  examples of functional movements that are commonly completed in CrossFit gyms around the world.

Here’s a video describing these exercises to build functional fitness:

Squat

A squat is a foundational movement that mimics the action of sitting down and standing up. Performing squats with resistance during a CrossFit class can make activities such as sitting on the couch, recliner, booth at dinner, or even the toilet much easier.

Deadlift

Deadlifting is a motion that you use every day, whether you realize it or not. Bending down to pick up toys or lift up grocery bags are common examples. Practicing deadlifts with resistance in CrossFit can help you build strength and make these daily activities more manageable.

Burpee

A burpee is a full-body movement that involves getting onto the ground and pushing yourself back up to a standing position. As we age, falls become more common. Performing burpees on a consistent basis can help you stay strong and active, making it easier to get off the ground if a fall occurs.

Overhead Press

This movement involves pushing a weight overhead, which is something you do often in everyday life. For example, lifting up a child, putting groceries into cabinets, or reaching for dishes in high cabinets. Training this movement in CrossFit can make these activities more efficient and easier to perform.

Summary

Incorporating these functional movements in your CrossFit routine can improve your overall quality of life in Augusta GA. By doing them on a regular basis, you will notice an increase in efficiency and strength in everyday activities. Give CrossFit a try today and see how it can benefit your life!
